Top 5 Activities for Your Kids this Summer in the Metro Detroit Area

We love having our kids at home, however it can be challenging for kids to entertain themselves for three whole months. You don’t want your kids to be cooped up in the house playing video games all summer long. We compiled a list of our top 5 activities to keep your kids occupied and enjoying this summer.

  1. Cranbrook Planetarium

The planetarium at Cranbrook Institute of Science is a great place to take your little astronauts to explore the universe. It offers a star projector that allows you to tour the Milkyway while keeping your feet on the ground. Not to mention many other attractions on Cranbrook’s campus area.

  1. Comerica Park

Catch a Tigers game at Comerica Park with your whole family. Ride the Ferris Wheel and the Carousel all before the game begins and grab some peanuts and crackerjacks.

  1. Upland Hills Farm

Take your kids to Uplands Hills Farm, where they will learn about where their food comes from. They also get to see and hear the sound of a rooster crowing, the feel of the sheep’s wool, and actually milking a cow.

  1. Greenfield Village

Have your kids ever wondered what was life like when you were a kid?  Take them to Greenfield Village and tell them you didn’t live amongst the dinosaurs and show them how life was like 300 years ago. Take a ride in a real Model T, or a walk through four working farms. Rub shoulders with world-class artisans, and explore the place where America’s can-do spirit inspires you to go out and get it done.

  1. Red Oaks Water Park

When your kids are full of energy, and you need to tire them out, take them to Red Oaks Water Park! They have a Wave-action pool for your oldest and a children’s water playground with 68 features for the middle ones and a water play area for your toddler.
